Project abstract:
Namibia has positioned itself as a potential global leader in the emerging green hydrogen sector, with the Government of Namibia and Hyphen Energy promoting the country as a future hub for green hydrogen production. This Honours project investigates the following research question: How do disjunctions within and between levels of government shape the implementation of green hydrogen policies and projects in Namibia? Specifically, how governance tensions across national, regional, and local levels influence decision-making processes, policy implementation, and the distribution of benefits and burdens associated with green hydrogen development.
